Getting in

What is CREW?

CREW is a mobile app and verified network in the United States where photographers, models, filmmakers, stylists and hair and makeup artists find each other and the brands that hire them. Members verify their identity before they can chat or apply, profiles are built on reviewed portfolios instead of follower counts, and verified members post and apply to castings for shoots, campaigns and creative projects. CREW is free to join and in private beta on iOS and Android.

How do I join?

CREW is in private beta. Join the waitlist on this site with your email, and your role and city if you like, and we'll write when your spot opens. New members are welcomed in small waves so every connection stays meaningful. Approved members get a personal link to install the app on iPhone or Android.

Who can join?

Photographers, filmmakers, models and stylists, makeup and hair artists included, who work in the United States, and the brands, studios and agencies that hire them. You need to be 18 or older, and every member verifies their identity before they can save profiles, chat or apply to castings.

Is CREW available outside the US?

Not yet. During the beta CREW is open only to members who work in the United States: prices are in US dollars and castings are posted for US cities. If you are based elsewhere but work in the US regularly, you can join the waitlist with the US city you work from.

Verification & safety

How does verification work?

In the app you photograph the front and back of your ID, take a selfie and record a short video answering a few prompts on screen, such as saying three numbers. A person on the CREW team reviews every submission and approves it or tells you what to fix. Verification is free, and it is required to save, unlock, chat and apply to castings.

What happens to my ID images?

They are stored privately, never shown on your profile, and seen only by the team that reviews verifications. When an attempt is approved, the files of your earlier rejected attempts are deleted; the rest are deleted with your account. If your check runs through Stripe Identity, Stripe holds the images and CREW keeps only the result.

How are portfolios reviewed?

Your profile appears in Discover once you are verified and have at least one portfolio item approved for display. Portfolio photos and videos go through CREW's moderation queue: the team can review and remove any item, and automated screening for nudity, violence and gore can hold an item back until a person has looked at it.

How do I report or block someone?

From a profile, a photo or a message, choose Report and pick a reason: fake or impersonation, harassment, spam, sexual content, illegal activity or other. Reports go to the CREW team. Blocking works both ways: neither of you appears to the other in Discover, profiles or castings, and neither can save, unlock or message the other.

Credits & PRO

How do credits work?

Credits pay for the actions that put you in front of someone: sending an Invite, standing out on a casting application, unlocking an applicant, publishing a casting and boosts. With PRO they also unlock a profile to start a chat. Every price shows in the app before you confirm. New members start with welcome credits, and credits never expire.

What does CREW PRO include?

PRO lets you unlock any profile you are not connected with and start a chat, makes every action paid in credits cheaper, adds credits every month, raises how many profiles you can save, includes free boosts each month and unlocks the PRO filters on castings: city, pay, dates and verified posters. It is billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, and you can cancel any time from Manage subscription in the app.

Can I get a refund?

Payments are processed by Stripe. To ask for a refund, reply to your Stripe receipt email or write to support@yourcrew.net. PRO can be cancelled anytime from Manage subscription in the app. Refunded credits come off your balance.

What if my balance becomes negative?

Spending never takes it below zero: an action only goes through when your balance covers it. A refund can: the credits a refunded purchase bought are taken back even if you already spent them, and paid actions wait until your balance covers them again.

Castings

What is a casting?

A casting is a call for talent posted by a verified member: a shoot, campaign or creative project, with the roles it needs, how many people, the dates and a deadline to apply. You can read open castings on the Castings page of this site, or browse them in the app, which is where you apply.

How do I apply to a casting?

In the app, open the casting, pick the role you want and answer the poster's questions if there are any. Applying is free; standing out on an application costs credits. The poster sees your verified profile and portfolio and accepts or declines, and you are notified either way.

Who can post a casting?

Any verified member. In the app you describe the job, add one or more roles with how many people and the pay, set the dates and a deadline, and optionally add questions for applicants. What publishing costs, if anything, is shown before you confirm and on the Pricing page.

What is an urgent casting?

A casting whose shoot is only a few days away. Urgent castings are listed first in the app so they reach people in time, and they carry an Urgent label. Like any casting, it stops taking applications at its deadline, or on the shoot date when it has none, or once every role is filled.

Account & privacy

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete account. Your account is purged after 30 days, and you can cancel from the same screen until then. If you can't open the app, email privacy@yourcrew.net with the subject "Account deletion request". The account deletion page has every step.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes. In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy, and tap Export my data: you get a JSON file with your account, profile, consent choices and activity records. For anything the export does not include, or any other privacy request, write to privacy@yourcrew.net.

Can I hide my profile?

Yes. In Settings, then Privacy, turn off Show in Explore feed and your profile stops appearing in discovery for other members. You can also turn read receipts off on the same screen: other people won't see when you've read their messages, and you won't see theirs either.

How long does CREW keep my data?

Your profile, portfolio, messages and castings stay until you delete them or your account. Some records are kept longer: the security and audit log for seven years, and payment records without your name. Sign-ups that are never confirmed or used are removed after seven days. The Trust & safety page lists every period.
