Trust & safety

Real people, real work, and a team that checks.

CREW only works if you can trust who is on the other side. This page explains how members are verified, how portfolios and reports are handled, and what happens to your data.

Every member verifies their identity

In the app, a new member photographs the front and back of a government ID, takes a selfie and records a short video answering a few random prompts on screen, such as saying three numbers out loud. A person on the CREW team reviews every submission and approves it, or rejects it with the reason so the member can try again. Where it is available, the check can run through Stripe Identity instead; a person on our team still makes the final decision.

Until they are verified, members cannot save profiles, unlock or message anyone, apply to or post castings, leave reviews, or appear in Discover. CREW is for adults: every member must be 18 or older.

Portfolios come before profiles

A profile appears in Discover only once its member is verified and has at least one portfolio item approved for display. Portfolio photos and videos go through a moderation queue: the CREW team can review, approve or remove any item, and CREW can screen uploads automatically for nudity, violence and gore, holding back what needs a person to look at it.

Profiles and castings cannot carry phone numbers, email addresses, links or social handles. Conversations stay on CREW, where reporting and blocking work.

Reports and blocks

Report

Report a profile, a photo or a message from the app and pick a reason: fake or impersonation, harassment, spam, sexual content, illegal activity or something else. Every report reaches the CREW team, who can warn, remove content or suspend accounts under the Community Guidelines.

Block

A block works both ways. Neither of you appears to the other in Discover, on profiles or in castings, and neither can save, unlock, message or review the other. You can unblock from Settings at any time.

What we keep, and for how long

ID files are stored privately, never shown on a profile, and seen only by the team that reviews verifications. Payments are processed by Stripe; CREW never sees or stores your card number.

When an account is deleted, its messages stay in the other person's copy of the conversation, shown as from a deleted user, and payment records are kept without your name. The Privacy Policy has the full detail.

Delete your account or get a copy of your data

  • Delete: in the app, Settings, then Delete account. The account is purged after 30 days, and you can cancel from the same screen until then. Without the app, follow the steps on the account deletion page.
  • Export: in the app, Settings, then Privacy, then Export my data. You get a JSON file with your account, profile, consent choices and activity records.
  • Anything else: write to privacy@yourcrew.net.
