Model castings

Photographers, brands and agencies cast models on CREW for fashion, editorial, commercial, runway and fitness work. Each casting says who the poster is looking for, how many people, the shoot date and the deadline to apply. You apply in the app, and the poster sees your verified profile and portfolio.

What a model casting on CREW includes

Every casting lists the roles and how many people each one needs, the shoot date, the deadline to apply and, when the poster sets it, the pay for each role. Some add a fitting date, how the photos will be used, or questions you answer when you apply, such as your measurements or whether you are free on the shoot date.

Who posts model castings

Photographers building their book, brands shooting a lookbook or a campaign, and studios and agencies casting editorial, commercial and runway work. Only verified members can post, so every poster has confirmed their identity with a government ID, a selfie and a short video, reviewed by a person on the CREW team.

How to apply

Open the casting in the CREW app, pick the role and answer the poster's questions if there are any. Your verified profile and portfolio go with the application, so keep your recent digitals and best tear sheets up front. Applying is free. The poster accepts or declines, and you are notified either way.

Staying safe at castings

Applying on CREW never costs money, so treat any request for a fee to be considered as a red flag. Castings and profiles cannot carry phone numbers, emails, links or social handles, which keeps the conversation on CREW, where you can report a casting that asks for something it shouldn't and block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Questions

Do I need an agency to apply to model castings on CREW?

No. You apply with your own verified profile and portfolio. Agencies and brands post castings on CREW too, but you do not need representation to apply.

Are model castings on CREW paid?

When a poster sets pay for a role, the casting shows it before you apply, as a single amount or a range. Read the brief and the requirements of a casting that lists no pay before you decide.

Can I apply to model castings outside my city?

Yes. Every casting names the US city of the shoot, and you can apply to any open casting whose requirements you meet. CREW is available only in the United States during the private beta.

  2. You apply in the app
