Join the waitlistWhat a stylist casting on CREW includes
Styling on CREW covers wardrobe stylists, makeup artists and hair stylists. A casting names the looks it needs, how many people for each role, the shoot date, any fitting date, the deadline to apply and the pay when the poster sets it. One shoot can post all three roles in the same casting, so a styling team can apply side by side.
Who posts stylist castings
Photographers who need looks built for an editorial, brands producing a lookbook or a campaign, models planning a test shoot, and studios and agencies booking glam and wardrobe for content days and runway. Every poster is a verified member: a person on the CREW team reviewed their ID, selfie and video.
How to apply
Open the casting in the CREW app, pick wardrobe, makeup or hair, and answer the poster's questions. Your portfolio travels with the application, so show finished looks on set rather than flat lays alone, and keep before-and-after work for makeup and hair easy to find. Applying is free.
Staying safe at castings
Agree on what you bring, the call time and who covers wardrobe pulls or products before the shoot day, and keep it in writing on CREW. Castings and profiles cannot carry phone numbers, links or social handles, and you can report a casting or block a member from the app at any time.
Questions
Are makeup artists and hair stylists part of stylist castings?
Yes. On CREW, makeup and hair sit under Styling with wardrobe, and a casting can ask for a makeup artist, a hair stylist and a stylist in the same post.
What do posters ask stylists when they apply?
It depends on the casting. Questions are optional, and when a poster adds them the casting page lists them, so you know what you will answer before you open the app.
When does a stylist casting stop taking applications?
At its deadline, or on the shoot date when it has none, or as soon as every role is filled. Urgent castings, for shoots only days away, carry an Urgent label.
